Harris County, Texas, has seized four cranes worth more than half a million dollars from United Crane, Houston, because the crane rental firm owes more than $641,000 in taxes, the Houston Chronicle reported last week.

United Crane officials said the company had been negotiating to pay the taxes and that the county overvalued the equipment, not accounting for depreciation.
