Belgian rental company and crane manufacturer Arcomet and Washington, DC-based tower crane company P&J Crane Systems last week announced the formation of P&J Arcomet, their new North American crane company.

The new company began full operations July 1. P&J Arcomet will leverage P&J Crane Systems’ growing market share, reputation and infrastructure in North America with Arcomet’s wholesale purchasing strength, fleet size and technical capabilities.

“P&J Arcomet provides us a greater platform in which to move into the North American market,” said Frans Wouters, managing director of Arcomet.

The new company will begin with 30 top-slewing cranes and six Arcomet self-erectors for a total fleet of 36 cranes. Headquartered in Washington, DC, Peter Jehle and Stephen Jehle will serve as president and senior vice president, respectively. Arcomet managing directors Dirk Theyskens and Wouters will serve as board members.
