Anchorage, Alaska-based Craig Taylor Equipment is celebrating its 50th anniversary in business this month. The company will hold anniversary parties at its Anchorage, Fairbanks, Soldotna and Wasilla locations, with representatives from more than two dozen manufacturers the company represents.

Craig Taylor, founded by Craig and Thelma Taylor in 1954, offers rentals, sales and service, and is a past RER 100 listee. The company holds authorized dealerships for more than 15 manufacturers, including Komatsu, Dynapac, Skytrak and Lift King. When Craig Taylor died in 1987, his wife Thelma took over as president and CEO, and their son Mike now serves as vice president. CTE has 70 employees, averaging 17 years of service.

According to company officials, the Anchorage location specializes in services to general contractors, oil companies, and industrial facilities. The Fairbanks branch caters more to the mining and tourism-infrastructure industries, while the other branches do more business with residential properties.
