Terex Utilities Shoots a Spiral Bullet into the Auger Market

The Terex Texoma Spiral Bullet Auger from Terex Utilities is designed specifically to optimize the drilling performance of digger derricks in extreme drilling conditions. This auger has a unique tooth pattern that distributes the cutting action evenly to offer digger derrick operators powerful production capability in virtually all ground conditions. In many cases, a digger derrick equipped with this auger can drill in conditions that previously required a pressure digger, the maker says.

The cutting pattern on the Terex Texoma Spiral Bullet Auger is designed to allow each tooth to cut a small track to increase cutting efficiency and tooth life. The cut pattern and tooth attack angle combine to make the bullet teeth act like fingers that penetrate through and lift up fractured or broken material.

“Competitive models are designed so the outside teeth do the majority of the work, while the inside teeth do very little,” says John Pantzke, project manager, Terex Utilities. “The Terex Texoma Spiral Bullet Tooth Auger equalizes the work done by each tooth on the cutting tool. The spiral bullet tooth design on our auger offers increased production rates while reducing tooth wear.”

Often rented, the Terex Texoma Spiral Bullet Auger can be used in the most difficult ground conditions, with all of the standard Terex tooth offerings and is adaptable to any size digger derrick truck. Flighting thickness and pitch options are available for this auger.
