Hitachi introduces its new Dash-5 excavators — the ZX470LC-5 (pictured), ZX670LC-5 and ZX870LC-5 — which feature greater horsepower combined with optimized hydraulics for bigger arm and bucket digging forces to move more material per gallon of fuel. The roomier cab has more side-to-side foot room and a larger door with more glass for better visibility to the side. The monitor displays images from the new rearview camera, which is mounted on the counterweight.

Doosan launches the new DA40 articulated dump truck, the first in a new family of Doosan ADTs offering increased engine power and torque, higher payloads, lower fuel consumption, enhanced operator comfort and faster travel speeds. Powered by a 6-cylinder interim Tier 4-compliant diesel engine with a gross power output of 500 hp at 2100 rpm, the new DA40 offers a 10-percent increase in engine power compared with the previous MT41 model. The new transmission offers eight forward and four reverse speeds.

Powered by a Tier 4 interim-compliant Scania DC9 370-hp engine, the new Terex TA300 Generation 9 articulated truck is designed to keep productivity levels high, fuel consumption low and cycle times short. The TA300 has a maximum payload of 30 tons, a body dump cycle time of 20 seconds and a 22.9-cubic-yard heaped-capacity body. The truck is also equipped with a ZF fully automatic manual-override transmission and retarder with six forward gears and three reverse gears. It is suited for quarrying, mining, construction and road maintenance.

Gradall

The new Gradall XL 4100 IV hydraulic excavator features the new AutoDrive system with an automatic transmission, making it easy to drive between jobsites. The six-speed Allison transmission uses push-button controls in the undercarriage truck cab so that users can select either the Gradall, Deere or SAE joystick pattern. The new XL 4100 IV models introduce a new high-visibility yellow paint scheme with red and black accents, replacing the grey scheme with red and black accents previously available.

John Deere

John Deere Forestry & Construction expands its new Interim Tier 4-certified G Series hydraulic excavator line with three new models. Weighing in at 47 metric tons, the 470G LC (pictured) is a 367-hp unit designed for large commercial excavating projects and roadbuilding. The 67-metric ton 463-hp 670G LC and the 87-metric-ton 532-hp 870G LC are suited for mass excavating or truck-loading applications. By using the LCD monitor's rotary control, operators have quick access to operating information such as engine rpm and oil temperature, and they can easily check maintenance intervals, adjust cab temperature, tune the radio and select work modes.

Case

The new Case CX250C (pictured), CX300C and CX350C full-size excavators replace models in the company's B Series line. The new models feature Tier 4 interim-certified cooled exhaust gas recirculation technology designed to burn cleaner while delivering improved horsepower. The three new models deliver 177, 207 and 266 net hp, respectively. The new Case Intelligent Hydraulic System technology reduces total fuel consumption and improves performance, the maker says. Boom Economy Control lowers engine rpms during the boom down and swing operation, while the Auto Economy Control lowers rpms when the joysticks are inactive.
