The Wacker Neuson Group has decided to withdraw from the world’s third-largest construction equipment trade show Intermat 2009 in Paris, the company said last week. Wacker Neuson will increasingly focus its sales and marketing activities on direct contact with customers.

“The current market situation has led us to realign our marketing and sales activities,” said Werner Schwind, board member responsible for sales and marketing of the Wacker Neuson Group. “We will be investing available resources in measures that bring our customers in direct contact with the group’s products and employees at our production facilities and branch offices. We are confident that this strategy will give our customers compelling first-hand insights into our extensive light and compact equipment product portfolio as well as into the great performance delivered by the Wacker Neuson and Kramer Allrad brands.”

Wacker Neuson, created by the 2007 merger between Wacker Construction Equipment AG and Neuson Kramer Baumaschinen, is based in Munich.
