SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. — Volvo Rents has opened a new rental center in Huntsville, Ala., its third in the state, joining existing locations in Foley and Mobile. A forecast by McGraw Hill Construction says the growth of construction spending in the greater Huntsville area is projected to total nearly $5.6 billion by the end of 2016.

“We believe there is tremendous opportunity in the market, and specifically in the state of Alabama,” said Mike Crouch, vice president of business development for Volvo Rents. “Our strong brand recognition, coupled with the growing demand for equipment rental, made this decision an easy one and gives us every reason to look to the future with great enthusiasm.”

In other Volvo Rents news, the company recently launched a section on its website dedicated to used equipment sales. The new part of the site is designed to make this affordable used construction equipment more visible to customers.

“This is a large step for us as a company,” said Ed McHale, director of fleet management for Volvo Rents. “Previous efforts to make our used equipment more visible centered on local or at best regional advertising. With this new business development, we can communicate to a much broader customer base.”

The available equipment ranges from excavators to generators, aerial work platforms to backhoe and skid-steer loaders, and is located throughout Volvo Rents' network of more than 130 locations in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico.

“Our rental equipment is constantly rolled out to ensure that we have the newest and most up-to-date fleet possible,” McHale added. “Making our used and well-maintained equipment more readily available and accessible to potential buyers allows us to better service our rental customers with the latest and greatest in construction equipment.”
