Dec. 20, 2013

United Rentals this week announced the completion of its 2013 expansion of specialty branches with the addition of three new U.S. locations and three in Canada. The company opened 18 specialty branches in 2013 and plans more openings in 2014.

United Rentals Power & HVAC branches in Midland, Texas; Calgary, Alberta, Canada; and Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada, will provide engineered power, heating, cooling and ventilation solutions for commercial, industrial and governmental customers, and disaster recovery services. United Rentals Trench Safety branches in Lubbock, Texas; Calgary, Alberta, Canada; and Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, will provide engineered excavation support and confined space entry systems, along with worker training.

"We've now met our 2013 target for 18 strategic openings, with more planned for 2014,” said Paul McDonnell, senior vice president - operations, trench safety, power and HVAC. “Each addition to our specialty division enhances the services offered by branches across our network. This is a major differentiator for United Rentals — our ability to leverage the full extent of our resources for customers at the point of need.”

Stamford, Conn.-based United Rentals has an integrated network of more than 820 rental locations that operate in 49 U.S. states and every Canadian province. It is No. 1 on the RER 100.
