United Rentals CEO Kneeland to Speak at IPAF Conference

Michael Kneeland, president and CEO of United Rentals, will deliver the keynote presentation at the Access Summit, organized by the International Powered Access Federation. The summit, free and open to all interested parties, will focus on the theme “Rent Clever: Dynamic Powered Access Solutions in Difficult Times,” and will be held April 2, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel Northwood in Dublin, Ireland.

The summit, free and open to all interested parties, will focus on the theme “Rent Clever: Dynamic Powered Access Solutions in Difficult Times,” and will be held April 2, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel Northwood in Dublin, Ireland.

Kneeland will discuss strategies for rental companies and observations on differences between the United States and European markets.

“We have a panel of excellent speakers who will look at strategies for the powered access industry to fight back the recession blues,” said IPAF managing director Tim Whiteman.

Other speakers include:
· John Ball, managing director of U.K. rental specialist Height for Hire and current IPAF president. Ball will look at how aerial specialists can react to difficult market conditions;
· Maria Hadlow, editor of Access International. Hadlow will analyze the U.K. powered access market;
· Kevin O’Shea, safety and training director for U.S.-based Mastclimbers LLC and chairman of IPAF’s International MCWP Committee. O’Shea will examine the development of mast-climbing platforms as a rental business.
· Scott Hazelton, senior principal and director at research consultants Global Insight. Hazelton will give background into the preparation of statistical research in the access rental market.
