Sunbelt Rentals was named one of the top 50 Most Military-Friendly Employers for the second consecutive year by G.I. Jobs magazine. The company is ranked No. 25 on the G.I. Jobs list.

“Sunbelt has recognized the importance and value in hiring veterans for a number of years,” said Kenny May, the Fort Mill, S.C.-based rental company’s director of career development. “Making the Top 50 Military-Friendly Employers list confirms that our military recruitment efforts are successful.”

G.I. Jobs reviewed 2,500 eligible companies — with a minimum of $1 billion in annual revenues — and only 2 percent made the top 50 list. Ranking criteria included assets dedicated to military hiring, Reserve/Guard policies, percentage of total new hires in the past two years who are veterans, and veteran recruitment/training/promotional programs.

“Our recruitment program includes a variety of strategic sourcing avenues to identify talent from the military,” added May. “We are proud of our success, but we are more pleased with the valuable employees we are able to hire as they make the transition from military to civilian employment.”

Sunbelt Rentals, a subsidiary of United Kingdom-based Ashtead Plc, is No. 2 on the RER 100. It has locations in 35 U.S. states, plus the District of Columbia.
