Spider Adds Sales Representatives in Houston

Spider, a division of SafeWorks llc, recently hired two district sales representatives for its Houston location. John Amick and Bill Sherer are responsible for solving the suspended access and safety challenges of contractors and facility owners in the Houston area.

Amick has more than 20 years of business development and management experience in the regional and national heavy equipment rental industry. As area branch manager with United Rentals Trench Safety Division in Houston, Amick’s consistent revenue, PBT and EBIT growth set records in 2005 and 2007.

Prior to working with United Rentals Amick held the position of director, contract services for Managed Services Group, where he was responsible for securing long-term contractual agreements totaling $45 million in annual revenue by maintaining strong relationships with major accounts in the energy, construction and industrial market sectors.

While at General Electric Lighting, he managed all aspects of distribution sales including marketing, training, and promotions in the company’s Houston location. Most recently, Sherer was promoted to distributor products/contractor sales engineer at GE Electric Industrial, concentrating on high profile business development and account management.
