Ritchie Bros. Opens New Washington State Auction Site

Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers opened its new 37,000-square-foot auction building in Chehalis, Wash., this week as more than 2,700 bidders from 40 countries and 43 U.S. states registered onsite or online for Ritchie’s latest Washington auction.

“We had a great turnout to our grand opening auction and welcomed a large and diverse bidding crowd,” said Brad Maas, regional sales manager for Ritchie Bros. “People registered from as far away as Indonesia, Germany and Peru.”

The new site is a relocation from Ritchie Bros.’ previous Olympia, Wash., site. Sen. Dan Swecker cut the ribbon and said: “We are fortunate that Ritchie Bros. will continue to provide much-needed full-time and part-time jobs in addition to other job opportunities as the operation expands. It will also provide a valuable revenue stream for state and local governments.”

Ritchie Bros. also held a CA$50 million auction in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, this week as well as a U.S. $41 million auction in Houston.
