Red-D-Arc Parent Buys U.K. Welding and Positioning Equipment Specialist

Airgas, the parent company of leading welding rental company Red-D-Arc Welderental, has acquired A&N Plant, a Europe-based supplier of new and re-conditioned, positioning and welding equipment for sale and rent.

Airgas, the parent company of leading welding rental company Red-D-Arc Welderental, has acquired A&N Plant, a Europe-based supplier of new and re-conditioned, positioning and welding equipment for sale and rent. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

A&N grossed about $20 million in revenue in 2007. With the purchase, Argus created a new business unit called Red-D-Arc Ltd.

A&N Plant has offices in Buckinghamshire and Merseyside, U.K., and Stellendam, Netherlands. The company operates in Europe, Asia and the Middle East, serving a diverse customer base in offshore and onshore oil and gas, petrochemical, power generation, environmental, industrial plant and steel fabrication industries.

Airgas is based in Radnor, Pa. Red-D-Arc, No. 29 on the RER 100, is based in Austell, Ga.
