Ohio Cat has acquired the expanded Cat Mining equipment distribution and support business for its territories from Caterpillar Global Mining LLC.

Ohio Cat has acquired the expanded Cat Mining equipment distribution and support business for its territories from Caterpillar Global Mining LLC. Ohio Cat assumes responsibility for the sales, marketing and product support of the expanded Cat mining products, including hydraulic shovels, electric shovels, draglines, highwall miners, drills, belt systems, longwall, and room and pillar products.

“Taking on the expanded Cat mining products enhances our product offerings and broadens both the equipment and the product support options our mining customers face when they are in the market for surface or underground mining equipment,” said Ken Taylor, president of Ohio Cat. “We have a strong heritage as a locally owned and operated equipment supplier to Ohio’s mining industry.”

Other Caterpillar dealers have also acquired portions of the former Bucyrus distribution business. Caterpillar continues to hold discussions with other Cat dealers that have mining activity in their territories and will continue to operate the business until the transitions occur in those areas.

Ohio Cat is based in Broadview Heights, Ohio.
