National Trench Safety, a Houston-based company specializing in the rental and sales of trench and traffic safety equipment, as well as OSHA-compliant training classes, last week launched a new national account program.

“We are very excited to announce our new national account program,” said Ron Chilton, NTS president. “Over the last few years, we have added a lot of branches to our platform. When you couple that with our strategy of having a true national footprint to offer to our customer base, we needed to establish a more formal and focused marketing program for our larger customers. These national customers are typically spread across diverse geographic areas, which can create unique service, pricing and communication challenges. The new national account program will seek to accommodate these national customer needs through an additional layer of NTS account management.”

The national account program will be spearheaded by rental industry veteran, Gary Stephens, who has joined NTS as its new national accounts director. Stephens is a trench safety veteran with more than 14 years of national sales experience.

“As we sought to implement the national account program, we found Gary to be a natural fit for the position,” Chilton said. “Gary has a diverse account management background and has an established relationship with many of the national customers we want to work with. We think Gary will be a valuable resource for both NTS and our customers.”

NTS now has 14 branch operations in Arizona, California, Louisiana, Nevada, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas and Utah. In maintaining the objective of building a nationwide network of trench and traffic safety branches, NTS plans to open at least one additional new branch operation in 2012 with additional branches planned to follow in 2013.
