Komatsu America Acquires Distributor Midlantic Machinery

Komatsu America Corp. has acquired Midlantic Machinery, a former RER 100 company that is a Komatsu construction and mining equipment distributor. The acquisition by Komatsu America is part of a strategic reinforcement of its distributor network.

Both Midlantic and Komatsu America anticipate continued growth in its territory. The company, based in Hatfield, Pa., also has branches in Harrisburg and Wilkes-Barre, Pa.; Baltimore; and a newly opened facility in Frackville, Pa.

In business for more than 75 years, Midlantic, in addition to a full line of Komatsu construction and mining equipment, also handles Bomag compaction equipment, Sennebogen material handlers, Morooka crawler carriers and Stanley-LaBounty demolition, process and percussion tools.

The entire staff of Midlantic Machinery has been retained. Ben Norris, previously vice president of financial services and treasurer of Komatsu America, has been named the new president of Midlantic Machinery.
