JLG Industries, the world leader in aerial work platforms and telescopic material handlers, acquired Power Towers, a low-level access equipment manufacturer based in Leicester, U.K. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded in 2007, Power Towers specializes in the engineering and manufacturing of low-level access products including seven lift models, both self-propelled and push around. Power Towers makes units for indoor as well as outdoor use.

“This important acquisition strengthens our existing portfolio of low-level access lifts and demonstrates our commitment to the European market,” said Frank Nerenhausen, JLG Industries president. “The addition of Power Towers products and people allows JLG to become an even stronger partner to our customers.”

Power employs about 30 people, all of whom will be retained. “It gives Power Towers the opportunity to realize its manufacturing potential and sales potential via JLG’s network while staying true to our position as pioneers in the industry.”

With the acquisition, JLG expands its low-level access portfolio, which currently includes push around and self-propelled mast lifts and stock pickers, and the LiftPod line of personal portable lifts.

“JLG and Power Towers share a common culture of innovation, simplification, and ethical business practices,” said Karel Huijser, JLG vice president and general manager-EMEA.

JLG, based in McConnellsburg, Pa., is owned by Oshkosh Corp.
