Worldwide Power Products has been named to Inc. Magazine’s top 1,000 fastest-growing private companies in the United States in 2013 and ranked 14th in Houston, its headquarters. Worldwide, ranked No. 910, has grown especially through providing power products to the oil-and-gas sector on a global basis.

“The company re-shuffled the inventory of generators for sale or rental to include more natural gas generators and engines,” said WPP executive vice president Mark Lum. “This move was to meet the increasing demand for cleaner onsite power generation equipment in the North American shale markets. We also signed new distributorship deals with HiPower generators and GFS dual-fuel kits. Becoming a master dealer for GFS allows our customers to replace diesel fuel with up to 70 percent natural gas on diesel-fuel engines, thereby lowering operating costs and the carbon footprint costs significantly. HiPower provides us with manufacture-level supply of premium quality generators beyond our current stock.”

The company pointed out that oil and gas customers are in diverse areas and conditions that vary from freezing to very hot. To meet each producer’s special needs, WPP has one of the largest collections of fully inspected and tested new surplus, low-hour used and remanufactured engines and generators in the word. With shale drilling and production continuing to grow, demand for power generation grows with it, helping WPP take advantage of new opportunities.

WPP provides diesel and natural gas equipment from manufacturers such as Caterpillar, HiPower, Multiquip and Cummins. It sells and rents new and used equipment in the U.S. and more than 50 other countries. Worldwide was also ranked by Forbes Magazine as one of America’s 100 Most Promising Companies.
