Hertz Equipment Rental Corp., along with joint venture partner Dayim Holdings Co., has opened their first location in the Middle East in Damman, Saudi Arabia.

The opening of HERC Damman is part of the company’s overall growth strategy to tap into developing regions, offering equipment rental and fleet management services. HERC’s Damman location offers a broad range of equipment and tools, including aerial work platforms, telehandlers, construction and industrial forklifts, 185- to 1600-cfm compressors, light towers and generators ranging from 50kw to 1 mw. Suppliers include Atlas Copco, Ingersoll Rand, Case, Genie, JLG, Wacker and Miller.

“Damman is home to one of the largest concentrations of oil, gas and petrochemical businesses in the world,” said Hertz chairman and CEO Mark Frissora. “Driven by infrastructure development and opportunities in the petrochemical industry, the new location will allow HERC to tap into the high growth potential throughout the country while offering customers in Saudi Arabia a one-stop shop for their equipment rental and fleet management needs.”

Located on the Damman-Jubail Highway, the new facility features a 7,000-square-foot shop, a two-acre yard, regional office and branch showroom. The facility is six kilometers north of Damman, the capital of Saudi Arabia’s Eastern province, and is within easy access of the largest refinery in the province.

HERC’s partner, Dayim Holdings, was established in 2006 as a vehicle for investment and partnerships in the fast-growing country. It is present in sectors such as construction, oil and gas, security, IT and telecommunications.

Based in Park Ridge, N.J., HERC is No. 4 on the RER 100.
