Deere Dealership Flint Equipment Acquires METRAC

In a move portending greater consolidation among equipment distributorships, Albany, Ga.-based Flint Equipment acquired METRAC, an Atlanta-based Deere equipment dealership that handles construction equipment, agricultural equipment and diesel power engines.

In a move portending greater consolidation among equipment distributorships, Albany, Ga.-based Flint Equipment acquired METRAC, an Atlanta-based Deere equipment dealership that handles construction equipment, agricultural equipment and diesel power engines.

Flint, also a Deere dealership, operates a heavy equipment division called Flint Equipment as well as Albany Tractor Co., an agricultural dealership. Flint Power Systems is its engine division. Prior to the acquisition, Flint had 17 branches in Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina and Florida. Flint was founded in 1932.

METRAC has been in business in the Atlanta area since 1967.

Flint officials said the majority of METRAC employees will be retained.
