Caterpillar to Donate $3 Million for Tsunami, Earthquake Relief

Caterpillar said this week it will provide up to $3 million in cash and machinery to support relief operations following Friday’s earthquake and tsunami in Japan.

Caterpillar said this week it will provide up to $3 million in cash and machinery to support relief operations following Friday’s earthquake and tsunami in Japan.

The company said Caterpillar’s “business unit in Japan will provide $1 million of in-kind donations of construction equipment and will monitor the relief work and make additional contributions as needed.”

Caterpillar said its initial evaluation revealed no injuries to its workforce in Japan or damage to its manufacturing plants in Sagami or Akaski or its Tokyo headquarters.
