California Rental Association “Rental Rally” Moves to Pomona Venue

March 7, 2012
The California Rental Association will hold its 2012 Rental Rally Tradeshow at a new venue at the Fairplex in Pomona, Calif., about 30 miles east of downtown Los Angeles. The venue’s easy proximity to southern California rental centers made it an attractive location, and its close proximity to the Ontario, Calif., airport makes it a convenient flight for rental attendees located in northern California.

Beginning with an awards banquet Tuesday evening, March 13, the rental rally will follow with two days of trade-show style exhibitions plus an outdoor demo area where rental attendees will have the opportunity to observe demonstrations and try out equipment.

CRA will present two equipment-related seminars, one on commercial vehicle requirements presented by California Highway Patrol officer Rene Galindo, and the other on theft prevention, given by Lou Koven, a former Los Angeles Police Department detective who is now an investigator for the Crime Prevention Program of Southern California.

CRA will also offer two party “town hall” panels. One will cover “web and marketing,” presented by David Dworshack and Tom Mantyla; and another covering operational topics including tent permits, lighting, re-rents, delivery and pickup, setup and knockdown, GPS systems, and protection (damage waiver).

Workshops on various topics are scheduled throughout both days at vendor booths.

Tuesday evening’s opening event and awards ceremony will be held at the National Hot Rod Association Museum and the Wednesday evening banquet will be held at the Pomona Valley Mining Company.

CRA executive director Dale Blackwell told RER that more than 100 vendors offering rental products and equipment, technology and services will be exhibiting, including major players such as Bobcat, Billy Goat, Haulotte Group, Chicago Pneumatic, Alert Management Systems, Electric Eel, Hilti, Kubota Tractor, Multiquip, Point-of-Rental Systems, Solutions by Computer, Skyjack, Wynne Systems, Tsurumi, Wacker Neuson, Terex/Genie, Sullivan-Palatek, and more.
