Atlas Copco Appoints Wasel President of New Specialty Rental Division

Atlas Copco last week announced that Horst Wasel, currently vice president compressor technique rental within the company’s portable air division, was appointed president of the recently created specialty rental division.

Atlas Copco last week announced that Horst Wasel, currently vice president compressor technique rental within the company’s portable air division, was appointed president of the recently created specialty rental division.

“Horst Wasel has extensive experience of the compressor business and has proven his leadership in the rental business,” said Ronnie Leten, president of the Compressor Technique business area. “This combination makes him well suited to strongly develop the specialty rental division.”

Horst Wasel joined Atlas Copco in 1983 in Germany where he held several positions. Between 1994 and 1999 he was packaging manager for the turbomachinery package assembly business within Atlas Copco Energas, Germany. In 1999 he moved to the United States as general manager for Atlas Copco Rotoflow. He came back to Europe in 2001, where he took on the position as general manager Atlas Copco Netherlands. After two years he returned to the U.S., where he successfully headed Prime Energy as vice president. Since July 1, 2006, he has been vice president compressor technique rental within the portable air division.
