ARA Show Attendance Increases Significantly

The number of rental companies represented at the recent Rental Show in Las Vegas increased by nearly 30 percent to 1,995 companies, while total rental personnel in attendance increased nearly 40 percent to 4,348, according to figures released by the American Rental Association this week. Attendees came from the United States, Canada and 39 other countries, ARA said.

“It was a great show for the industry,” said ARA CEO Christine Wehrman. “Attendees demonstrated they were here to buy equipment, strengthen their businesses and celebrate their industry.”

In related news, the latest findings from IHS Global Insight say equipment rental revenue, including construction and industrial equipment, general tool and party and event rental, will increase more than 7 percent in 2011 to about $28.5 billion this year. According to the IHS report, industry revenues will increase 14 percent in 2012, 9 percent in 2013 and 13 percent in 2014 and 2015 bringing the industry total to almost $45 billion. Most of the income, as defined by IHS, comes from the construction and industrial segments, with less than 10 percent coming from the party and event rental industry.
