Brothers John and Bob Onderdonk and their sister Linda Harvey have sold A-1 Rental, an equipment rental company in Ann Arbor, Mich., that their family founded 57 years ago, Mlive.com reports. The company was founded by Adrian and Ann Onderdonk in 1957, sharing a building with a meat-packing business. The company began as a tool rental operation, later adding other items as demand grew.

The new owners, Doug and Stephanie Schoch, also own Dexter Rent-All in nearby Dexter, Mich. The Schoch’s plan to keep A-1’s 15 employees. The building has about 15,000 square feet of warehouse space, larger than the Dexter location. The

Schochs obtained funding for the purchase through Chelsea State Bank.

The Onderdonks, whose parents retired from the business in 2003, said they sold because after 45 years working in the business they felt it was time to retire.
