Acme Lift Co., the Mesa, Ariz.-based wholesale rental and lift re-rental specialist, has named Jay Franzak, eastern United States regional manager. Franzak is a veteran of almost 30 years in the equipment rental industry in sales and management positions.

“We welcome Jay and believe his exceptional record of customer service and rental acumen will help Acme Lift better serve our Atlantic Coast customers with local and personal attention,” said Woody Weld, Acme Lift CEO. “Jay believes in mutually beneficial relationships and has the ability and authority to quickly solve our customers’ re-rental challenges in the eastern United States and Canada.”

“Franzak’s strong operating background — including management jobs at the retail branch and district levels — gives him a first-hand understanding of the needs of our re-rental customers and the experience to take creative approaches to resolve any challenges.”

Franzak will be based in Frederick, Md. He worked for 14 years at Hertz Equipment Rental Corp., starting as a sales coordinator in 1983, before working his way up to sales representative, branch manager, northeastern regional sales director and finally southeastern regional manager. He joined United Rentals as a district manager, was promoted to northeastern regional sales and marketing manager in 2006, and then became northeastern regional national accounts manager for two years beginning in 2008.

Acme Lift specializes in the re-rental of large aerial work platforms, such as 60-, 80-, 120-, 135- and 150-foot boomlifts and 8,000- to 20,000-pound telehandlers, as well as an extensive line of truck-mounted cranes. Acme is No. 64 on the RER 100.
