Harsco to Support African Hydropower Facility
Harsco Corp. last week said its Europe-based Huennebeck Access Services division will provide shoring equipment to one of Africa’s largest hydropower construction projects under a contract valued at about $2 million, with the potential for further orders during subsequent stages of construction.
Huennebeck’s equipment will support construction of the new 250 MW Bujagali hydropower facility to be built over the next four years on Uganda’s Victoria Nile. The order is Huennebeck’s largest ever in Africa. Under the contract Huennebeck will supply a range of equipment sold through its branch operations in Italy, including shoring systems and specialty brackets for construction of the facility’s concrete dam and three new buildings.
Harsco Access Services business group is the world’s largest provider of scaffolding and formwork equipment, operating in 32 countries. Based in Harrisburg, Pa., its U.S.-based Patent Construction Systems division is No. 18 on the RER 100.
