Wacker Neuson

Wacker Neuson has added its vertical digging system to select compact excavators, which compensates for height differences on uneven terrain, quickly setting the operator in an upright position. The system enables operators to tilt the cab and boom of the excavator by up to 15 degrees, allowing operators to compensate for slopes up to 27 percent. Benefits include shorter digging times; up to 25 percent time and material savings when excavating and backfilling; up to 20-percent increased stability at full load; optimized swiveling performance and dumping height, and normal sitting position for reduced fatigue.

Volvo Construction Equipment

The EC20C compact excavator from Volvo Construction Equipment is powered by a Tier-4-compliant 16.2-hp diesel engine and offers a new cab and digging equipment design. The operator can now use an electro-proportional fingertip control on the joystick for swing and offset movement at the same time, enabling the EC20C excavator to deliver faster and more precise performance while reducing operator fatigue. The attachment circuit and offset function foot controls have been replaced by the joystick button — providing operators with more leg and foot room over previous designs. Maximum hydraulic oil flow for the first auxiliary circuit can now be set to adjust the maximum speed of a tilting ditching bucket. The adjustment is made from the right-hand joystick using the proportional roller and maximum flow switch. The EC20C meets or exceeds TOPS, ROPS and OPG1 standards of protection.
