Cooling System, Other Features Enhance Wheel Loader

The new cube-shaped cooling system on the 621D wheel loader from Case provides premium performance in extreme conditions while the loader itself delivers 133 net hp from the fuel-efficient Case 6BT-590 turbocharged engine.

The D Series cooling system uses a Case-exclusive mid-mount, cube-shaped module that supplies the cleanest air and more efficiently cools the engine and components. By eliminating stacked coolers, the cooling system design prevents debris from plugging between coolers. This reduces owning and operating costs through less fluid breakdown and lower component wear.

“The mid-mount, cube-shape design of the cooling module exposes all coolers to the same ambient air temperature for top cooling performance,” says David Wolf, marketing manager. “The 621D moves up to 30 percent more payload than its predecessor and has excellent lift capacity and breakout force.”

The loader maximizes traction in slippery conditions with standard limited-slip axles in the front and rear. This feature transfers power from the wheel that is slipping to the one that is gripping, retaining power when pushing material or crowding a pile in wet or muddy conditions.

New bucket designs feature a higher hinge-pin location for better sweep into the pile and increased leverage. The skid plates have been tapered so less area rubs on the ground.
