New Ryan Sod Cutter a Smooth Operator

Ryan introduces its new 2010 Jr. Sod Cutter, which is CE approved and features a new ergonomic spring-support control system with vibration isolators to significantly reduce vibration felt by the operator.

“Our new handle configuration has a marked 300-percent reduction in vibration to the operator over current models,” says Jeff Hallgren, director of brand and product development for Schiller Grounds Care, parent company of Ryan. “This is a significant improvement that operators will notice and benefit from immediately.”

Other features include a new cut depth indicator, adjustable belt guide and pneumatic rear caster wheel to easily cut curved landscape beds out and further absorb vibration. The rear caster wheel also locks into place for straight cuts and across slopes.

“Time is money,” adds Hallgren. “This is especially true in rental. For the rental dealer, setting up new equipment to get it ready for rental takes time. The 2010 models of Jr. Sod Cutter will come fully assembled and ready for display, saving the dealer about an hour of set-up time and labor cost. For the rental customer, the smooth operation of the Jr. Sod Cutter allows for a much longer period of use without fatigue. This not only makes for a more satisfying rental experience, it gets the job done quicker and the machine back to the dealership for added rental opportunities.”

The 2010 Ryan Jr. Sod Cutter also offers the choice of either a 5.5-hp Honda or 6-hp Briggs & Stratton engine; the choice of either 12- or 18-inch sod cutting widths; self-propelled drive with knob tread drive wheels for maximum traction; pneumatic rear caster wheel for added maneuverability; and a cast-iron gear case.

Verified by Jeff Hallgren, director of brand and product development for Schiller Grounds Care.
