Case Construction Equipment introduced the new Tier 4 Final TR270 Alpha Series compact track loader, an updated 74 HP model that increases bucket breakout force (7,270 pounds), torque (232 foot-pounds) and hydraulic flow (standard: 24.2 gallons-per-minute (gpm); high-flow: 32.4 gpm) compared to the previous model.

Case Construction Equipment introduced the new Tier 4 Final TR270 Alpha Series compact track loader, an updated 74 HP model that increases bucket breakout force (7,270 pounds), torque (232 foot-pounds) and hydraulic flow (standard: 24.2 gallons-per-minute (gpm); high-flow: 32.4 gpm) compared to the previous model. The loader is designed for landscaping, residential construction and agricultural work due to its light weight (8,200 pounds), low ground pressure, narrow design (less than 66 inches) and attachment versatility.

The updated TR270 weighs in at 8,270 pounds with a rated operating capacity of 2,700 pounds (2,800 pounds with optional counterweight). The weight of the machine makes it a good fit for most landscaping trailers. The radial-lift arm design is designed for digging and pushing, and the machine’s hinge-pin height is designed for loading and unloading trucks. A 19.5-gallon fuel tank extends runtimes and ensures that the machine can work the entire day without refueling.

The TR270 features a cooled exhaust gas recirculation (CEGR) engine with a particulate matter catalyst, which is made up of a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) and a high-efficiency flow-through filter. This solution does not require manual regeneration or filter replacement (compared to a diesel particulate filter). The DOC converts emissions into neutral gasses. The remaining particulate matter then passes through to the high-efficiency flow-through filter where it is stored and burned off through passive regeneration powered by the heat of the exhaust gas.

The TR270 offers a new EZ EH (electro-hydraulic) setup menu that features nine preset speed and control settings that can be adjusted on the fly. This allows the operator to match controls to their preference. A single rocker switch allows operators to switch between the Case “H” operating pattern and ISO pattern controls. New handles with additional “feel points” are designed to improve controllability and feathering.

All Case Alpha Series compact track loaders feature a dozer-style undercarriage, designed for stability on steep slopes and excellent performance in muddy and sandy terrain. The rigid track frame features fewer moving parts than suspension track systems, making it more durable and easier to maintain, per the OEM.

The TR270 offers one of the widest cabs in the industry at nearly three feet, and comes with an optional enclosed cab that is fully sealed and pressurized against noise, dust and fumes. The cab-forward design emphasizes visibility with what manufacturer calls excellent site lines down to the bucket edge and curb lines, and to the rear of the machine. Ultra-narrow wire side screens, side lighting and a skylight further improve visibility. The low step and entry threshold makes it easy for the operator to get in and out of the cab.

The engine, filters and fill points are all located at the rear of the machine for quick access. The TR270 features Case’s easy-tilt cab for convenient access to the drivetrain compartment. Hydraulic quick couplers allow operators to quickly change attachments from the comfort of the cab, while Connect Under Pressure (CUP) manifolds require no tools to connect or disconnect hydraulic lines.
