Dear RER:

I just finished reading your article “Paint and Polish” in the April issue of RER about affording a bucket of paint.

Being a new company it seems the only impression will be the first impression. From staff appearance (which includes delivery technicians, sales people and me) to our vehicles (equipment appearance), facilities to even the cleanliness of our warehouse, everything makes a difference. Ever run out early on a Saturday morning to pick up bagels for breakfast not looking your best? And just when you're not prepared you're about to bump into two neighbors — your banker and the one customer you've been chasing for weeks for an opportunity.

And believe it or not, great appearance is contagious.
