Qualcomm Inc. recently introduced the availability of its GlobalTRACS equipment management solution to the European construction industry. GlobalTRACS has been available in the United States for four years, and has now been modified to meet the specific needs of the European construction equipment industry. The updated solution meets the requirements for both security and fleet management applications.

The GlobalTRACS solution is designed for factory or aftermarket installation on all equipment makes and models. It can automatically collect, wirelessly transmit and manage critical operational data to give users the power to manage their equipment and not just track it. An easy-to-use, Web-based application helps in tracking this information. It can also be integrated into existing back-end business software systems.

The GlobalTRACS solution has successfully been tested by OEMs and rental companies in Western and Eastern European countries. One of these companies, Bobcat Europe, has worked with Qualcomm to validate the use of the technology and services for its equipment in Europe.
