John Deere Power Systems Jump-Starts New Lineup at Bauma

John Deere Power Systems displayed its entire Interim Tier 4/Stage III B diesel engine lineup and announced engine models and power ratings at the Bauma 2010 in Munich, Germany, last week. Emissions regulations begin Jan. 1, 2010 for 130 kW (174 hp) and above engines and require a 90-percent reduction in diesel particulate matter and a 50-percent reduction in nitrogen oxide (NOx) from previous Tier-3 requirements. The IT4 effective date for 75 to 174 hp is Jan. 1, 2012.

Emissions regulations begin Jan. 1, 2010 for 130 kW (174 hp) and above engines and require a 90-percent reduction in diesel particulate matter and a 50-percent reduction in nitrogen oxide (NOx) from previous Tier-3 requirements. Deere’s 56kW (75hp) and above IT4/Stage IIIB feature cooled exhaust-gas recirculation (EGR) and variable geometry turbocharger (VGT) technologies. Deere expects to maintain fuel-economy levels similar to those achieved with its Tier-3 engines. JDPS’ cooled EGR engines operate efficiently with ultra low-sulfur diesel as well as biodiesel blends, providing owners and operators with fuel-choice flexibility.
