ASHEVILLE, N.C. — Volvo Rents last month signed a franchise contract in the Mobile, Ala., area with Cook Coastal Rentals, owned by Miles Cook. Cook plans to open Volvo Rents centers in Spanish Fort and Montrose, Ala., in the near future.

The company also signed new franchise contracts for Volvo Rents centers in Florida and New Jersey.

Access Rentals LLC, Harrison, N.J., and World Rental Sales, Miami, have entered into franchise agreements and plan to open Volvo Rents facilities in their respective territories soon. World Rental Sales will open branches in Dade and Broward counties in south Florida. Access Rentals will open in the metropolitan Newark area.

The company also signed a third Volvo Rents franchise contract with Orlando, Fla.-based Contractor Equipment Rentals. CER, which already has Volvo Rents centers in Orlando and Melbourne, will open its third branch in Lakeland, Fla.

Volvo Rents, which began its franchise rental program in 2001, has rental centers open in Virginia, North Carolina, Florida, South Carolina, California, Tennessee, Ohio, Louisiana, New York, Minnesota, Arkansas, Georgia and New Jersey.
