Caterpillar's TH580B telehandler features a four-section boom that enables the machine to lift loads as high as 56 feet and to reach forward 42 feet. The TH580B has an operating weight of 27,465 pounds and a rated load capacity of 11,000 pounds. High capacity and extended lift height and reach combine with maneuverability for high performance in demanding applications. The TH580B features three steering modes — 2-wheel, crab and circle steer — for agile maneuvering in tight spaces.
The telehandler comes equipped with either a canopy or enclosed cab. The electro-hydraulic joystick allows the three boom functions to operate simultaneously for precise load placement in difficult applications. The joystick also operates the auxiliary hydraulic function and allows the option of a second auxiliary service for the use of work tools that require more than one hydraulic power source.
An integrated toolcarrier front is standard on the TH580B. The hydraulic quick coupler allows the operator to change non-hydraulic tools quickly and easily from inside the cab. An auxiliary hydraulic service at the boom head is available to operate hydraulic work tools. New work tools include a material handling arm, a universal standard carriage and a side-shift carriage.
“Cat telehandlers combine productivity, maneuverability and responsiveness to deliver smooth and stable performance on the jobsite,” says Scott Cooper, senior project engineer for Caterpillar. “The single joystick, with its intuitive, modulated hydraulic functions maximizes operator efficiency. With its optional hydraulic quick coupler and extensive range of work tools, Cat telehandlers deliver exceptional versatility.”
