George Johnson, Jr. 62, of Upatoi, Ga., died June 27 in Columbus Ga.

Johnson had more than 35 years experience in the equipment rental industry. He was the president and owner of Rental Equipment Group at the time of his death. He was previously the president and chief operating officer of General Rental LP, Boca Raton, Fla.; regional vice president of Rental Service Corp.; and chief operating officer of Rental Service Co. in Columbus, Ga.

Johnson is survived by his wife of 41 years, Brenda; a daughter, Leslie; a son, George Johnson III; and three grandchildren, Rae, Kacie and Kamryn.
