HSS RentX, the Denver-based national rental chain, last week announced it has hired Tom McCormick as chief operations officer for its North American operations. McCormick is joining HSS RentX from Home Depot where he played a primary leadership role in the development of that company’s tool rental operation as senior director, tool rental centers.

“HSS RentX is committed to making its customer experience unrivaled in the rental industry,” said David Kilonback, CEO. “We are very excited to have someone with such solid industry knowledge and experience as Tom’s to solidify our commitment.”

Before joining Home Depot, McCormick was an executive at Toronto-based Stephenson’s Rent-All, which had a similar customer mix as HSS RentX, specializing in tools and small- to mid-sized equipment.

HSS RentX, No. 20 on the RER 100, has more than 70 branches in 11 states.
