Essex Crane Rental Corp. appointed James Chalmers branch manager of its California service center in Fontana, Calif. Chalmers will assume full responsibility for customer service and support throughout the entire Essex Crane West Coast territory including the Longmont, Colo., and Rochester, Wash. Facilities.

Chalmers is a construction industry veteran with 36 years of equipment management experience, and has worked on some of the largest heavy civil engineering projects in the world. He most recently served as equipment superintendent for the California operations of Modern Continental and has worked with leading contractors such as Tutor-Saliba, Morrison Knudson, Peter Kiewet & Sons and others.
