Bay Area’s Cresco Acquires Pleasanton Rentals

Cresco Equipment Rentals, based in Livermore, Calif., has just acquired the contractor and tool assets of Pleasanton Rentals, Pleasanton, Calif., a single location equipment and party rental company. With the acquisition, Cresco now has 14 locations in the San Francisco Bay area.

Sherri Creighton, former owner of Pleasanton Rentals, will continue to own and run the party and event rental segment of the business and will change its name to properly reflect the concentration on party equipment. She will continue to operate the party rental division out of the same location as the tool rental division for a transitional period and then move to a separate location.

“This is another great fit for our Cresco team,” said Cresco president Chris Smith. “The philosophies and operating procedures of Pleasanton Rentals reflect many of the Cresco core values of ‘teamwork, service and fun.’ ”

Cresco was represented in the transaction, terms of which were not disclosed, by Hageman, Stansberry & Associates, based in Cameron Park, Calif., and Arlington, Texas.
