Caterpillar Ranks Among Best Workplaces
Readers of Minority Engineer magazine have ranked Caterpillar Inc. among the top 10 places they would most like to work. Employers were ranked by the frequency they were cited by respondents to a 2004 survey. Caterpillar ranked No. 6 on the list of 50 companies. Readers were asked to name companies in both the public and private sectors for whom they would most like to work or that they believe are progressive in the recruitment, hiring and promotion of minority engineers.
Minority Engineer magazine is the most widely read recruitment magazine for minority engineers in the United States. First published in 1979, it is provided at no charge to qualified engineering, computer-science and information-technology students and professionals who are Black, Hispanic, Native American, or Asian American. The magazine reaches minority engineers nationwide at their home addresses, colleges and universities, and chapters of professional engineering associations.
