The Manufacturing Extension Partnership of Louisiana gave its Platinum Award for Continued Excellence to Aggreko’s national repair team.

Aggreko, which founded its North American division in New Iberia, La., in 1986, provides rental power generators, temperature control equipment and compressed air systems to companies and organizations around the world. Its National Repair Center in New Iberia does major repair and reconditioning of power generators and air compressors.

Since implementing lean manufacturing techniques recommended by MEPOL, the national repair center has reduced turnaround time in half, reduced work in process by 41 percent, and increased productivity to 84 percent. Aggreko has experienced an estimated annual cost savings of $500,000 since implementing the program. Aggreko is No. 12 on the RER 100.
