AGC Partners with U.S. Department of Labor
The Associated General Contractors of America last week announced that it has entered into a formal partnership with the United States Department of Labor. The partnership is the product of the department’s new Partnerships for Compliance Assistance Program (PCAP) and the first to address the construction industry. Through this partnership, the parties hope to increase the awareness and use of the department’s many new compliance assistance tools.
“AGC has had a strong relationship and good communication with the U.S. Department of Labor for quite a long time, and we welcome the opportunity to formalize that relationship,” said AGC’s CEO, Stephen Sandherr. “When the Department approached us, we quickly agreed to join it in a positive effort to increase our members’ knowledge and understanding of the many federal laws and regulations that apply to their jobsites,” he added.
The partnership will enable the Labor Department to reach the broad mainstream of the construction industry, taking full advantage of AGC’s credibility, reputation, Web site, information technology, and publications. In the agreement, AGC promises to publicize the Department’s compliance assistance tools and to continue inviting Department representatives to participate in AGC conferences, seminars, and other events.
